We are alive!

Here are my cute boys, notice the lovely camping chairs behind Mike. That's how we roll, high class!
This will be quite a long post considering I have to catch up for the last month. A lot has happened; unfortunately, all but 2 of the 12 people on Mike's team either quit, got fired, or switched to alarms. Who knows what's going on! The economy maybe, or maybe the fact that it's consistently been 110 degrees or higher almost all summer. We also had a pretty rough time when I found out I had my 3rd miscarriage! It's o.k. though. I kind of knew something wasn't right, so I was prepared. Anyway, we are alive and chugging along. The summer is halfway over for us which is really a relief.
It was my birthday on May 24th and Mike took me to Carrabbas, one of my favorite Italian restaurants! Then we went to Indiana Jones after! It was a really fun night with my cute hubby. He works six days a week, and basically 12 hours a day during the summers, so I really appreciate any alone time we get!

Max got this tool set for his big birthday. He loved all the power tools and almost ran the batteries down on the first day. He also got his cute outfit from grandma Kjar. It has Lightning McQueen on it. He is absolutely obsessed with Cars. Whenever he sees his outfit he begs me to put it on, or tries to put it on himself. I love it. This kid is all boy!
This summer we have been SOOOO lucky to have friends near by. Holly and Jason Lang are here for Pharmacy school and only live about 15 minutes away from us. They have a sweet little girl named Emri and Max just loves her. He literally tackles her and kisses her every time we see them. We are with them most days of the week.
The kids play together so well! They share, chase each other around and play make-believe in Emri's kitchen. It is so fun to see. We also take them to a movie once a week, and have them both signed up for Little Gym. Max isn't sure if he loves it yet, but it's really nice to have something to do!
Yes, Max sleeps in the closet. We are really living in style! We got him this cute air mattress at Ikea. It fits perfectly into our walk-in-closet. He couldn't be happier, he made the transition out of his crib without any problems! Sometimes at night though, he will sneak out of the closet and snuggle up to Mikey on our lovely air mattress. It's way too cute. He totally misses his daddy during the day!
This is probably the most pathetic cake I have ever made, but I was too exhausted to do anything more. Max and I just got back from UT the day before his birthday, pretty late at night. I felt pretty embarrassed to post pics, but I figure it's the thought that counts right!?

Well, we are really excited for the future, and whatever it holds for our family. I am just praying we can finally settle in a cute house with a nice big yard. I hate living in the concrete jungle. I want Max to be able to make mud pies and get dirty. Which isn't really possible here since it's so hot! Anyway, I will try and get better at posting. Next week Dave and Julie are coming for a visit and we are really excited to break out of our normal schedule!
